What does this project consist of?
Phase 2 of the Beach Master Plan includes installation of beach pedestrian turtle-friendly lighting for the beach promenade, dune path delineation, and intersection improvements (S.R. A.1.A., Atlantic Avenue, Venetian Drive, and Gleason Street) focusing on pedestrian roadway crossings along S.R. A.1.A.

  

Will there be any road closures as a result of this construction?
The intersection work will be staged to keep Atlantic Ave. and SR A1A open during construction. Intermittent lane closures may be necessary.   The City will meet with the contractor in June to discuss the Maintenance of Traffic Plan prior to the roadway/pedestrian improvement work starting up in mid-July.  Check back for additional information.

 

What is the project schedule?
Anticipated Construction Schedule 
Construction Start: mid June 2019- Beach path delineation improvements thru the dune area, After the 4th of July mid July- Pedestrian Roadway improvements crosswalks along A1A, pedestrian improvements/intersection work at Atlantic Ave. & Venetian, Atlantic Ave and Gleason, Atlantic Ave & SR A1A, Pedestrian lighting along A1A. Construction Completion: End of October 2019.
